Nii Dodoo Otoo is a musician, a designer, a promoter of creativity and most importantly, a humanitarian who offers help to people living with depression and addiction mostly through outreach programs and counselling.
With his work, he aims at changing the things he can for the better and teaching the people around him to do the same. He has spent a lifetime on the things he is most passionate about; making music, designing, marketing creativity and helping people with disorders.
He believes his country Ghana, has a lot of untapped potential safe spaces and is also of the view that creatives should make their safe spaces available to other creatives to help them grow to the point where the world at large becomes a safe space.
Success to him means crossing one check point and looking forward to crossing the next one. On a lighter note, it could also mean his friends can be able to afford a Bugatti if he can.
Nii disclosed to us in a Twitter conversation last week while discussing safe spaces for youth in the creative industry that he overcame his addiction for drugs through music and he just released a song to mark this milestone. The song he says was composed from lyrics of “a breakup letter” he wrote to his addictions concerning the depression and trust issues that come with it. Listen to his song here.
