Energetic Smart and young STA AFRICA C.E.O., Nadia Nana Yaa Owusu – an art entrepreneur was selected as one of the young inspirational youths in Africa for the 10th UNESCO Youth Forum. She is the only Ghanaian together with 11 other vibrant participants from Africa.
The event, held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France commenced on Wednesday 25th October, 2017 and ended on the 26th October, 2017. The theme for the forum, Rethinking Youth Engagement with UNESCO saw delegates from across the world discussing ways in which UNESCO can engage with the youth to ensure that they are treated as actors and partners and not mere beneficiaries of UNESCO.
The UNESCO Youth Forum since its inception in 1999 has been held biennially in Paris. It brings together young people from all over the world and provides them with an innovative platform where the needs and concerns of the youth can be expressed and addressed.
She will be making a presentation on the recommendations made by the participants to UNESCO in the area of Culture at the 39th General COnference of UNESCO on 8th November.
Nadia Nana Yaa Owusu is a young art entrepreneur and a photographer who is passionate about arts. It is this passion that led to the formation of STA AFRICA where she provides a platform for other artists to develop and commercialize their artistic talents to help promote culture and safeguard African heritage. She also engages in some charitable acts and seeks to solve some of societies problems through art and other related means.
She was in the company of other experts, civic leaders and young change makers across the globe as they discussed pertinent issues related to the UNESCO’s fields of competence.
